Ek Main Aur Ekk TuInitially, it's possible to be pardoned for convinced that EK Main Aur Ekk Tu is a straightforward rehash from the Ashton Kutcher-Cameron Diaz star Hollywood comedy, What Goes on in Las Vegas. In the end, both movies are rom-coms occur Vegas, both following two other people who got married in a drunken stupor one evening simply to awaken towards the effects the following morning. That's in which the similarity finishes though, because this new release from Karan Johar's Dharma Productions banner eschews the standard, run-of-the-mill fare to provide a refreshing new twist on Bollywood's classic 'opposites attract' formula.

With Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor toplining within an unlikely pairing, debutant director Shakun Batra helms EK Main Aur Ekk Tu. Batra also takes the storyline credit around the movie, discussing it with hairstylist switched scriptwriter Ayesha Devitre. EK Main Aur Ekk Tu follows the lives of Rahul Kapoor (Imran Khan) and Riana Braganza (Kareena Kapoor), both unemployed and Las vegas citizens. Their life is hugely different, though. While Rahul is really a nerdy, gawky twenty-5 year old architect, twenty-seven years old Riana is definitely an from work hairstylist. Though they're 1000's of miles away, Rahul continues to be underneath the thumb of his controlfreak parents, an strongly competitive father (Boman Irani) along with a superficial, socialite mother (Ratna Pathak Shah), each of whom want him to become a carbon copy of themselves in existence.

Riana, however, is really a free-spirit who does not think hard before functioning on her impulses. Their different mobile phone industries collide once they occur to encounter one another in a psychologist's office, and before very long, they are out for any evening around town. However, things have a twist because they lower a couple of drinks a lot of, and before they are fully aware it, finish up engaged and getting married to one another. Where this unpredicted turn of occasions leads them in the future of affection forms the relaxation from the movie.

The very first factor that strikes you in EMAKT may be the believability factor from the movie. Whereas Bollywood makes a habit from grandiose, near-story book romances, this straightforward, straight-forward rom-com wafts across just like a breath of outdoors. The movie revels in the light, creamy humour, with Imran playing an ideal foil to Kareena's vivacious ways, the chemistry between your two oddly satisfying.

Shakun and Ayesha come out a script and dialogues to complement, the second drawing frequently chuckles, or even more than the usual couple of guffaws. The scene where Rahul finally vents his anger at his parent's dining room table is really a high reason for the movie. Imran is pitch-perfect as Rahul, getting directly into your skin from the meek, mama's-good-boy character. However Similar to his “Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na” debut, he makes their own because the awkward, nerdy Rahul who gradually, but surely, comes old through the finish.

The evaluations between Kareena's Riana and her very own Geet, from Jab We Met, are inevitable, the 2 figures discussing an identical streak of craziness. However, that comparison aside, its apparent there could not happen to be a far more perfect Riana for EK Main Aur Ekk Tu, with Kareena playing it in the heart.

Though they've fairly short roles, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah leave a mark within their roles as Rahul's parents, although the latter's socialite act is a little much like her outing on TV's Sarabhai Versus. Sarabhai. Sonia Mehra is funny in her own short, two-scene role among Rahul's potential matches. Ram Kapoor is fair. The stars playing Kareena's parents perform a fabulously funny job, and also the moments together with her grandmother are the ones to be careful for.

Amit Trivedi pulls out some good tunes for that movie, using the appealing title track and auntyji finding fans throughout. Trivedi's music spreads throughout the movie superbly, the quiet gubbare gubbare and kar chalna shuru tu especially so. Around the technical side, DOP David MacDonald warrants praise for that way he captures all of the hues and shades of Vegas and then, Mumbai, superbly.

EMAKT works very well since it offers something refreshingly new and various without which makes it quite as apparent, and director Shakun Batra warrants praise for your. The pairing between Imran and Kareena improves the movie to a different level, the 2 matching each other perfectly. Using the fresh humour, the breezy romance, the chemistry between your stars, the lit-up great thing about Las vegas, and ultimately, a new twist with an old formula, EK Main Aur Ekk Tu clearly offers quite a bit opting for it…
